This Participant’s Manual was originally developed as part of a certification program for joint health and safety committee (JHSC) members in Ontario.

As adapted, the manual will assist any health and safety committee or representative improve occupational health and safety in their workplace. Health and safety committee members and representatives are urged to become familiar with the occupational health and safety act and regulations that apply to the specific workplace and jurisdiction.
