Printing from a Web Browser

Once you have selected a document to print - click once inside the document to "focus" the browser window to this part of the frame.

printerMost Web Browsers display a toolbar with a printer icon which can be selected. Otherwise, click on the File Menu to locate the Print command or press Ctrl-P.

Printer Hints:

  • Internet Explorer allows you to highlight selected text and print this selection only (select menu option File, Print, then select Print range: Selection)
  • Netscape Navigator allows you to print a particular page from a range of pages (click once on the document to focus the Web Browser window, then select menu option) File, Print Preview, then advance to the text you'd like to print and note the page numbers (usually in a corner), then select Print and type in the Print range.
  • Some browsers do a better job than others at table printing (breaking up the table so it is readable on multiple pages). If you find that the documents are printing poorly, you have the option of saving or clipboarding portions of the document text as files - then printing from a word processor.

Features such as printing, saving as text, and copying are Web Browser-specfic and are described more fully in your Web Browser Help.
