Saving Web Documents with Graphics
Many users would like to save Web documents (HTML) with both text and graphics included. Using your Web Browser it is possible to save HTML documents as text or HTML files, but this means that you lose any graphics associated with the file.
TIP: Internet Explorer version 5 or better (IE5) allows you to save the document as a Web Page complete with text and graphics. Any graphics are stored in a file folder along with your HTML file, and share the same name. When you open up that HTML document in a word processor you will see all the graphics in their correct place.
If you want to use your existing web browser (not IE5) to save Web documents follow these steps:
- focus the Web Browser on the document by clicking on that part of the frame
- select File from the browser menu
- then select Save As... to save the document file you are viewing as text or HTML
Select and save each graphic you wish to include:
- using your mouse point to each graphic
- right click your mouse (this works for any Windows 95+ system)
- you will see a menu pop up - select Save Image As
- save each graphic on your computer as a graphic file (usually .gif or .jpg)
Open the previously saved text or HTML file in your word processor or HTML editor, and import each graphic that you saved back into the document.
